Privilege Ibiza    - San Rafael

Built in the 70ies with the name KU this club had to shut down in the early 90ies because of rumors as mafia-businesses or drug-trading. After a couple of redesigns and restaurations in 1994 the KU reopend as the Privilege. Since then it has established in Ibiza's clublife. Located in the middle of Ibiza-City and San Antonio can easily be found. With a capacity of more than 10000 people and an area of about 40 square-meters according to the Guiness Book of World Records the Privilege is "the world's biggest club". Superlative is one word that appropriately describes this huge club. Maybe that's why people are not really suprised to find a large pool inside. Measuring almost the size of a soccer-field the dance-area is decorated with palms and has an awesome sound-system. Everything inside is bigger than anything else on the island. People actually happen to ask other people about where to find the exit as they are not able to find it. Entrance-feesdepend on the event that is taking place and are somewhere between 25 and 50€. Only the legendary Manumission-Party costs even more: 60€. Since 10 years this party takes place every monday and always is packed-full - thanks to transvestites wearing breath-taking costumes, very athletic acrobats and a dj in the bath-room. For those parties that are less popular and thus less crowded you can get flyers that help you save money when entering the club. Prices for drinks are pretty much just as high as everywhere else on Ibiza. Water and beer cost about 8€. for vodka and stuff you have to pay 10€. music-styles differ. Often the evening starts with funky music and end with trance- or techno-hymns. As more than 10000 people fit in lang lines in front of the Privilege are normal. To avoid that you best manage to get a ticket before night starts. In case you happen to be on Ibiza while Manumission-Parties are held, make sure to visit one. You will not forget it because it is a superlative of its own - just like the Privilege itself: bigger, louder, hipper - despite a party for masses still place to feel comfortable.
