Amnesia Ibiza    - San Rafael

When it opened back in the 70ies the Amnesia was one of the first clubs on Ibiza. Located between Ibiza-City and San Rafael back then this club was mainly known for its legendary porch-parties where bongo-drummers would heat up people until late dawn. Due to enforced environment-laws the porch needed to be redesigned. That's why there is a glass-roof ontop of it now. This however does not affect the ambience as palm- and towl-decorations make you forget about the roof. Those who prefer rather hard music-styles like trance and techno will feel home inside with a well-adjusted lightshow and a brilliant soundsystem. Sven Väth himself for years by now has been celebrating his Cocoon-Party here every monday. Those people that are more into styles of music that are harder than the kind of house that is mainly played on Ibiza, this party sure is the right event. On thurday as well you can get in here and have blast because that when Liverpool's Disco Cream celebrates its party. On that party the world's most popular Djs stand behind the turntables. Very famous as well are the EsPumas-Foamparties. If you happen to be on that party make sure you do not completely get soaked. Music-styles vary. It is possible that house, trance, techno, rock, or pop get mixed up resulting in an unsual sound. Entrance-fees for Cocoon or Cream depend on the time of the year and are somewhere between 30 and 50€. Other events usually cost you 20 to 30€ to get in. That's almost cheap on the white island. You should definitly watch out for flyers cause they often give you a discount. Prices for drinks are pretty much as high as everywhere else on the island. That is about 8€ for water or beer and 10€ for something like vodka-lemon. Just before are about to heat up a very popular "weapon" is used : the dry-ice-machine. By blowing cold air it cools down the crowd and thus created a gigantic feeling. With its wunderful decoration, the glass-covered porch, and its many excessive clubbers the Amnesia has become world-famous and that's why it's got to be a the To-Do-list.
